Midsummer celebration with Vasa lodge

Come and celebrate the arrival of Summer!

Nordic Lodge 708 will celebrate Midsommar and Sankt Hans Aften together with SWEA, Sons of Norway, and the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce. Members, family and friends are all invited! The event is FREE!

Our meal together will be Potluck – bring a dish for 6-8 people to share. There will also be hot grills ready to cook on by 12:00 noon. Water and coffee, and paper plates, cups and cutlery, will all be provided. Please note that alcohol is not allowed at the park.

Attendees are encouraged to bring flowers and greenery to help decorate the Midsommarstång! We will enjoy various games, and there will be traditional dancing around the Midsommarstång at about 2:00 PM.

McFarlane Nature Park, 280 Farm Road SE, Marietta 30067

The entrance to Farm Road is on Paper Mill Road, about 1/3-mile west of its intersection with Johnson Ferry Rd SE. **The most visible sign is labelled “Gateside Place” and is the entrance to a subdivision**. Look for the left turn!; if you see “Atlanta Country Club Drive” you’ve gone too far.

Farm Road is a simple gravel driveway. After you drive in, you will come into a gravel parking area in front of a large white home. Parking is to your left in the open field. Please turn left; there are signs directing you, and park in an organized way on the grass field. Before you turn, you’ll see the main area on your right, with picnic tables, a large brick grill and a shelter, which is where we will be.
